Savour the Slow Start to January

Rushing not Required

As we step into the new year, we present you with a unique challenge.

To Slow Down

Everywhere we look people are sharing their resolutions, beginning challenges, setting goals. This year, instead of rushing in, why not slow down and just pause, ease into the year with a little slower pace, as let’s face it, the end of 2024 was full on with festivities!

Our suggestion is simple, write a letter or an email, to your future self, to be opened on 31 December 2025. Picture yourself in the future—what are you doing, who are you with, and what brings you joy? Use this exercise to shed any negative thoughts or behaviours from 2024, and instead, visualise and document your proudest achievements over 2025. Celebrate your accomplishments, big or small, and set your intentions and themes for the year. No one else will read this letter, so make it vibrant and detailed, focusing on the journey from where you are now, to where you aspire to be. Seal the letter, set yourself a reminder for December or schedule the email. We all have the power to rewire our mindsets, it takes just one step at a time.

I personally completed this exercise on New Years Eve and have been focusing less on a ‘word’ of the year but more around themes and how to consistently plan in one of the 7 types of rest.  For your own inspiration you can learn more here

Championing Bold Decisions: A Founder-Led Perspective

At the heart of our journey is the relentless drive and sleepless nights that come with bold, impactful decisions. We’re here to share and support that energy with you.

2025 we know is set to bring a breadth of Employment Law change, we are already beginning to see the trickle of change as leaders begin to navigate a complex economic landscape.

How do you balance rising costs and headcount, are you complying with the new legislations’ around redundancy and mitigating job loss?

How do you continue to invest, ensuring happy employees, without over promising, whilst being mindful of the bigger financial picture?

At P&M we have been focusing on shedding and refining what we offer to clients and predict the following shifts:

  • A greater emphasis on ensuring psychological safety within the workplace
    • Leaders who show vulnerability and seek support are better equipped to drive trust and resilience across the organisation. We have been talking about compassionate leadership for years, now is the time to really shift
  • Leadership Coaching that focuses on the individual needs as well as developing strategic thinking.
    • This is exactly why we trained as a Master Intuitive Psychology Coach. We want founders and leaders to lead with ease and clarity, be authentic and simply operate from a place of calm. The ripples within the organisation will help steady any changes that 2025 bring.
  • Adding value with Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) roles. Strategic wellness, at last bringing the holistic approach that we have championed for years.
    • Moving wellness from a policy or initiates, embedding into the foundations, focusing on mental, physical and emotional wellness. Respecting and empowering people, commercially understanding the benefits to all. Bold leaders will be investing this year and we are ready to support you through this.

The 25 in ’25 – Dare to embark with me?

Read, listen, watch:
As we move into the year, I will be back sharing recommended podcasts, books, and resources, and I welcome your suggestions.

Reflecting on my year of travel in 2003, when I documented every book I read, I’ve set a goal to read 25 books in 2025. I’ve created a page on The Story Graph to track my progress, aiming for a mix of fiction and non-fiction that will both expand and rest the mind. Whether classics, new releases, or your personal favourites, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Work with Us in 2025!

We are excited to announce that we are actively seeking a new retained client to join our network.

Every P&M client to date has come through a valued recommendation, and we believe in the power of personal connections.

Do you know a company that could benefit from a fractional HR Director or is looking to invest in a Chief Wellness Officer (CWO)? Our mission is to create change, add value, and ensure employee happiness over the next 12 months.

Let’s make a transformative impact together.

We love receiving your feedback and greatly appreciate your emails and nominations for the 1:1 coaching sessions. The selected individual was nominated by a colleague to help her focus on her personal goals in 2025. The nomination reasons were filled with acts of kindness towards others, making the selection process challenging. While it was difficult to choose, I made a point to support each nominee in some way, even if they were not selected.

Till next month,  focus on the slow and steady start to the year, enjoy taking your time, remember, there is no rush.
