Day 13 – Wellness

5 Oct 2019

Today I haven’t been feeling 100%, let’s face it, flu jabs are being administered and it is that time of the year where sick bugs rear their heads. I am rarely ill and can count on one hand how may sick days I have had, and it made me think about wellness in general.

Through my private health care, you gain rewards, as many of you know, the more active you are the more rewards you get, be this in health in your body and mind or simply a free film or coffee! As with all elements of life, the more you put in the more you get out, but there are some days where you just can’t function at full speed and need to stop.

I’ve worked for some incredibly supportive employers when it comes to sickness policies and have had cases where I have been able to support people back to full health, whatever the reason for their absence, by using the benefits we offered. Saying you support wellness as a company means you actually have to live and breathe it!

I did manage to get out of the house and take advantage of a free film, I saw Judy, a very moving and poignant film. I am so very pleased we live in an era where mental wellbeing is no longer an issue which is pushed aside and ignored.
