In P&M world, September is a time for new beginnings.
September is my month, I celebrate my birthday and the P&M anniversary milestone and everything feels like it is perfectly aligned to reset.
So many new beginnings have started in September and this year is no different.
It is the month I feel the most organised, it is the month I am the most creative, the month I am bolder, braver and more prepared to take on the new, unknown and I tend to do this in all areas of life.
I also think it is a month where we start to welcome change, change of the season, the autumnal vibe begins to kick in (although I am still hoping for an Indian summer personally). Those tiny seeds of all things new, start hibernating ready to pop up in spring, quietly growing without any fanfare.
Perhaps pause and reflect:
What actions can you take today to bloom in spring 2025?
Explore a new skill, establish a positive habit, or let go of something to create space for the new.
I would love to hear what your new beginning may be.
Hip Hip Hooray- to us!
We are celebrating our 5 year anniversary of all things P&M this month, and I am beyond elated where this journey has taken us so far.
To always persevere is one of our core values, and with 45% of SME’s failing in the first 5 years, this milestone feels bigger than any before. We have worked with start up’s that don’t make it past this point and see the impact it has on everyone involved, so what an amazing privilege to work with so many valued clients over this time, we support you and you continue to support us.
Over the past five years we have also done it our way- we’ve supported charities, volunteered our time, and developed platforms like Espresso and Playing with Hire. Now, we’re excited to welcome the Peony Community to the P&M portfolio.
Even as I write this, I feel such a sense of gratitude that I have been able to create a company that others say they admire, they love hearing my thoughts and being guided by experience and knowledge that comes from doing something you truly love.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all past P&M clients and I can’t wait to meet more fantastic ones in the future.
September Focus and Thoughts
I had a great conversation around collective leadership recently, this theory works on the basis that you bring people together, based on skills, knowledge and diverse experience to work together towards a goal, less directive, top down, more collaboration.
We love this approach, however, this requires a number of factors to be in place within the workplace and culture to really be more than a new leadership narrative.
For us, it requires, trust, shared power, definitely leave those ego’s at home, transparency and really effective communication.
These skills all require investment, especially if traditional leadership roles previously existed.
This is where I feel corporate coaching could influence change. Through the IPC model of coaching, I feel with a collective focus, individuals and teams could work together to make the shift change. This excites me as I also feel there are leaders who are ready to make this change, really invest in a way previous leadership and management training didn’t quite hit the mark.
Are you one of those leaders?
The Peony Community
Affordable and accessible coaching, using the IPC framework is now available to all.
Coaching and mentoring have long been integral to P&M. As we continue to grow, our aim is to extend our reach to as many individuals as possible—especially those who haven’t had the chance or financial means to invest in coaching but would greatly benefit from it.
There are limited sessions within the Peony Community, beginning this month we will open up 6 places. I will be at a Fave UK Wellness every Monday till the end of the year if you prefer face to face coaching, if you are further afield, remote places are also available.
I have a vision for the Peony Community, that it will be based off altruistic values and have a strong belief that the ripple effects will be far reaching.
Do you feel you would personally benefit from coaching with me?

This month’s favourites.
My holiday read was Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which for me was a good read, thought provoking around some key themes of wealth, sexuality, gender and power.
It Ends with Us, read the book and saw the film on a little solo date to the cinema. The themes around love, domestic abuse, power and loss is complex but are important conversations to have. We all have the ability to change our pasts and this one line really stayed with me –
‘It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us’
I share my thoughts in the HR Magazine about effective HR professionals balancing listening to their intuition and evidence-based practices.
Another great listen on Slo Mo Podcast, episode 311 where Claudia Hammond and Mo Gawdat speak about kindness. They discuss kindness in the everyday and also talk about studies within the workplace and how being a kind leader is seen as ‘weak’ and rebranded as ‘ethical leadership’. Loved this conversation.
I was a podcast guest on She Loves Herself where we discussed the need for Intuitive Psychology Coaching in the Corporate World, as well as hearing the Co-Founders of IPA and Michelle, COO, discuss personal stories and the resistance to change.
As always, there were a few more books which were ‘so/so’ and I have a pile of new ones to get into as the nights get colder, it is a great excuse for me to do nothing but read in the warmth!
Work with us….
September could be the right time for us to work together, either as a retained HR expert or perhaps you are feeling now is the time to invest in yourself through the Peony Community.
